Mimosa tenuiflora

(Jurema, Tepescahuitl)
Packaging: root-bark
Source: Brazil, sustainably harvested

The semi-cold hardy Mimosa tenuiflora (= M. hostilis) is thought to be native to
the dry caatingas of northeastern Brazil but has also been reported from southern
Mexico, Central America and Venezuela. The fast growing, bushy and sparsely
spiny treelet can reach 8m and bears loose cylindrical spikes of fragrant white
flowers. Grows best in semi-tropical climates at altitudes of up to 1000m, easy
