Banisteriopsis caapi has many native names: Ayahuasca, Caapi, Kahi, Natema,
Hoasca, Mihi, and Yaje' among others. The use of this liana is so deeply rooted
in amazonian mythology and philosophy that it's great age as a part of aboriginal
life can't be doubted.
