Amanita muscaria
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Fly Agaric)

Packaging: slices

Source: South Africa, sustainably harvested

Few plants have fascinated humanity and inspired folklore like Amanita muscaria.
The first known report about the use of this mushroom dates back to 1730 when
a Swedish military officer observed the divinatory use of the Fly Agaric among
Siberian tribesmen. The custom still exists up to this day  in  some regions
of Siberia.  Some scholars believe that Amanita muscaria was the primary
sacrament of the Aryans who, 3500 years ago, migrated from the north into the Hindu Valley and brought with them their mushroom-cult.

While the identity of the god-narcotic Soma is not yet definitively established,
studies by the late Gordon Wasson strongly suggest it could have been the
Fly Agaric. Probably Amanita muscaria was also known and employed ritually
in Mesoamerica.

This stunningly beautiful mushroom is generally regarded as highly poisonous
in European folklore, probably reflecting our culture's mycophobic tendencies.
The two active principles, muscimole and ibotenic acid, are concentrated
immediately below the outer skin. The mushroom can be safely eaten if it
has been peeled. Amanita muscaria possibly contains promising anti-tumoral
compounds and is currently being investigated.

Amanita muscaria forms a mycorrhizal relationship with it's host-tree
(Pinus sp. or Betula sp.), as a consequence it has not yet been possible
to reliably cultivate it. The orange-yellow color distinguishes
Amanita muscaria var. flavivolvata from A.muscaria var. muscaria.

POISONOUS - STRICTLY NOT SOLD FOR CONSUMPTION!

Heimia salicifolia
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Sinicuichi, Sun Opener)

The genus Heimia was named in honor of the german physician
Ernst Ludwig Heim (1747-1834). Three species are currently recognized
and all play an important role in local folk medicine. The aerial parts are
reported to be antipyretic, antisyphilitic, diuretic, laxative, sudorific, useful
in post-partum baths and to enhance wound healing.

Lophophora diffusa
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(williamsii)

Source: Mexico

Packaging: seed

Native to the Mexican state of Queretaro, Lophophora diffusa is a close relative of the well known Peyote, Lophophora williamsii. Although closely related to L.williamsii, L.diffusa is morphologically, geographically and chemically distinct, the main alkaloid being Pellotine. While lacking mescaline, the activity of this species is well established through anecdotal reports. While L. williamsii is well-studied, this species is in need of more research.

Mimosa tenuiflora
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Jurema, Tepescahuitl)
Packaging: root-bark
Source: Brazil, sustainably harvested

The semi-cold hardy Mimosa tenuiflora (= M. hostilis) is thought to be native to
the dry caatingas of northeastern Brazil but has also been reported from southern
Mexico, Central America and Venezuela. The fast growing, bushy and sparsely
spiny treelet can reach 8m and bears loose cylindrical spikes of fragrant white
flowers. Grows best in semi-tropical climates at altitudes of up to 1000m, easy
to cultivate, likes full sun exposure and well drained soil!

Mitragyna speciosa
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Kratom)

Source: Burma, cultivation

Packaging: foliage

While we cannot yet guarantee that this material is authentic Mitragyna speciosa
we are very confident that it is.

Trials have shown considerable activity consistent with that of authentic Kratom.
Stimulant in small quantities, becoming a powerful sedative and narcotic in larger
amounts. So much has been said about this plant lately that we feel it is not
necessary to repeat ourselves. We will just mention it's reported anti-addictive
properties, supported by it's traditional use as opium surrogate.

In order to encourage research on this presumed Kratom we are selling it at
a very modest price. Get it while you can!

This is probably the most sought-after ethnobotanical herb of the past decade!
We have finally secured a small stock of this rare herb!! Mitragyna speciosa is
endemic to Thailand where it is considered illegal. Fortunately there is now a
small-scale plantation outside Thailand which can supply us with limited amounts
of foliage.

In Thailand Mitragyna speciosa is reputed to cure opiate and amphetamine
addiction, unfortunately until now it has been difficult to substantiate this claim
due to the difficulty of obtaining authentic material. There appears to be a lot
of variation among the reports from people who used this plant. Most sources
claim that it acts as a stimulant in low doses and a sedative in larger quantities.
Very few users mentioned an opiate-like effect, many comparing it to stimulants.
Some people apparently enjoy it while others do not.

It's primary alkaloid - mitragynine - has shown some affinity for opiate receptors
in the laboratory. A truly fascinating species - in need of a lot more research -
which we are proud to make available!

Peganum harmala
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Syrian Rue, Esphand, Steppenraute)

Source: India, cultivation

Packaging: seeds

Peganum harmala is a perennial, succulent bush growing in desert conditions.
Considered a noxious (invasive) weed in many parts of the world but notoriously
difficult to cultivate.
In magic, the powdered seeds are burned as a protective incense and they
are the source of the famous "Turkish Red" dye which is employed in the
manufacturing of Persian rugs.

Piper methysticum
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Kava-Kava, Yagona)

Packaging: 30% root extract

Source: Polynesia, cultivation

Kava is definitively the most significant intoxicant of Oceania, it's use being
comparable to that of Tea or Coffee in other cultures. Polynesians recognize
several chemotypes of P. methysticum, varying in their medicinal properties
and subjective effects. The varieties are mostly distinguished by the position,
lenght and thickness of the stem knots, as well as the color (from green to
purple) of the root. Six such varieties are counted on Fiji, fourteen on Tahiti,
21 on the Marquesas and an astonishing 72 on Vanuatu.

Salvia divinorum

Sceletium tortuosum
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Red Sage, Scarlet Sage, Kanna)

Packaging: powdered herb and seeds

Source: New Zealand, cultivation

The use of Kaugoed among the Hottentots of South Africa has often been
alluded to in the literature, unfortunately much of the data is fragmentary and
often contradictory. Accurate and detailed research has been undertaken only
very recently. All parts of the plant - leaves, stems and roots - are employed in
the preparation of Kaugoed. Several traditional techniques exist which serve to
reduce the levels of potentially harmful oxalates which are found in Sceletium
and other related species.

Trichocereus peruvianus
   In den EinkaufskorbEinkaufskorb

(Peruvian Torch, San Pedro)

Source: South Africa, organically grown

Packaging: seeds

Trichocereus peruvianus, along with it's close relative T. pachanoi is probably the most sought-after cactus species after Lophophora williamsii. It's cortex has been used for millennia by Andean cultures for healing and divination. While there are reports of exceptionally high alkaloid content in this species we believe it is roughly comparable with T.pachanoi.

We finally located a supply of the sought-after seeds. This columnar cactus is very easy to grow even when starting from seed and can achieve remarkable growth rates under good environmental conditions. Very ornamental, a must have in any succulent collection!

Please note that the cultivation of this species is illegal in some countries, we do not recommend nor condone illegal activities.
