Hemp Oil

The healthy properties of hemp oil have been known for millennia. In the Middle Ages it’s analgesic properties were praised by Hildegard von Bingen. Since antiquity, hemp seeds and hemp oil are employed as foods. After the war the plant was unjustly stigmatized due to it’s narcotic properties. Today scientists agree that hemp can be effectively employed against many diseases and complaints.

What makes hemp oil so valuable?

Up to 90% of hemp oil consists of unsaturated fatty acids. They are of vital importance because they are metabolized without causing arteriosclerosis. Hemp oil is particularly rich in essential fatty acids (83%)

Linoleic acid (30 – 70%)

Alpha-Linoleic acid (Omega-3 fatty acid 15 – 20%)

Gamma-Linoleic acid (2 - 4%)

This balanced content of fatty acids makes the long-known hemp oil very useful for a healthy nutrition and determines it’s superiority over other oils. Linoleic acid and Alpha-Linoleic acid protect from cancer, arteriosclerosis and degeneration of the heart. They have been shown to lower the cholesterol and fat content of the blood. Remarkably hemp-oil has a higher content (3%) of gamma linoleic acid than any other food-oil. Gamma linoleic acid helps to prevent and control illnesses like neurodermatitis, premenstrual syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and diabetic neuropathy. Numerous studies demonstrate that gamma linoleic acid has a positive effect on blood circulation, skin, the immune system, many metabolic processes and multiple sclerosis. Since the human body is unable to synthesize these important compounds it is necessary to assimilate them from external sources.

Therapeutic applications of hemp oil

3-4 teaspoons hemp oil or 6-7 capsules completely covers the daily requirements of the most important fatty acids. Physicians, biochemists and scientists have conducted numerous studies anf found Hemp-oil very useful in the treatment of:

Neurodermatitis: as little as 3 teaspoons or 6 capsules daily and external application to the affected areas of the skin result in a significant improvement of symptoms without any side effects.

Menstrual complaints: as little as 1 teaspoon or 1-2 capsules daily significantly improves physical complaints and psychological symptoms.

Rheumatoid arthritis: The daily intake of 5 teaspoons or 10 capsules for 6 months has been shown to produce a clinically relevant reduction of symptoms without side effects.

Diabetic neuropathy: The daily intake of 2 - 3 teaspoons or 4 – 6 capsules over the course of 6 months exerts a positive influence on diabetes mellitus.

The essential fatty acids of hemp oil are responsible for a healthy immune system that is able to defend itself against viruses. They help maintaining vitality and intellectual flexibility. They favor the synthesis of cell membrane components and mitochondria. They are also involved in the synthesis of several hormones. Hemp oil is effective in the treatment of eczemas, foot fungus and burns.

Hemp oil in natural cosmetics: Hemp oil is particularly effective against dry, scaled or cracked skin: it penetrates deep into the skin and improves its elasticity and softness. It alleviates and donates moisture. It slows the formation of wrinkles and aging of the skin.

Hemp oil is without doubt one of the physiologically healthiest food-oils. Scientist have discovered the high value of hemp seeds only recently. They predict a bright future for hemp as seed and oil plant.
